Money well spent

What comes across as initially a bad flash amalgamation as someone's first attempt at an XBLA game actually became an ingeniously hilarious means of passing up to 30 minutes at a time as more friends are introduced to this simple game of timing and reaction. Everyone's "complaint" of the only existing controls, the right thumbstick in the right direction, is actually a brilliant way of entertaining the same thrills you would get from a game of "slaps." React too early, and you lose. React to late, and kitty gets your cereal.

Where the entertainment value truly lies is getting a group of friends, only one of whom hasn't played the game before. Hand the newcomer the control and explain nothing, simply tell them to start the game. And thus, the feud of giggles and laughter happens as they realize how simple, ridiculous, and inadvertently addicting game of 'keep-away'. As the voice representing the arm with only two frames of animation gets more and more frustrated as the persistent cat does nothing but attempt to move left across the screen.

Perhaps not a "game" in the truest sense, but you will more than get your 80 points worth of fun.

Videogames can be art

If I could rate 11, I would. This game is just that good. This game pushed its cat into my life, and into my heart. It changed the way I think about modern entertainment, as well as art. It opened up infinite doors of possibilities. Playing this game is like playing with excellence. I believe it is the spiritual successor to Halo 3. It underscores the key morals of life, beautifully. Every time I push away the cat, I'm pushing myself closer to enlightenment. This is a dramatic masterpiece that can only be rivaled by the works of Shakespeare. I don't think I could ever play another game such as this, this is beyond perfection and anyone who has played it knows the same. I'm having difficulty expressing my feelings in the English language. If I had the power, I would make everyone on the planet play this game at least once, for it explains the true nature of man and I believe the world would be a better place if people took time to understand how wonderful this game actually is. To even call this a "game" is an understatement since it deserves a greater definition than "what one plays with for recreational purposes", but rather "a masterpiece that deserves its place beyond literature, the visual arts, and music".

No, Stupid Gamer, No

People say that Silver Dollar Games is ruining XBLIG with shovel-ware and Apps, that their "games" have no use outside of novelty. That may be true to an extent, but i have played a few great games by this often ridiculed game company. "No Luca No", is by no means one of those games.

I love getting into intricate detail with any games i play in my reviews. Unfortunately this "game" isn't a game at all, and i may seem to be leaving alot of details out, but unfortunately that is not the case here. Have you wandered onto any website, ever? I'm sure most of you are on one right now. Have you ever seen a flash advertisement that you scroll over with your mouse cursor to interact with what ever is is there selling. In this case, Silver Dollar Games is selling their handsome kitty. The whole point to this game is to prevent your handsome kitty from stealing your bowl of cereal. You do this by Using the right thumb stick to move your arm towards the cat every time he attempts to steal the bowl. Thats it. The scoring system is based on how long you can tolerate playing an internet Advertisement.

But there not selling anything here, besides themselves, out. I know they developed this game just because they can. But i also know the potential of SDGs ability to create an engaging game. I'm pretty disappointed that this game exists, but there's a better place for content like this. Its called AOL, Yahoo, or Netscape. Don't bother. I truly wish my review could have been more detailed, but that's based on the developer, not me. Shame, SDGs shame.

Comma, please! Okay, the game still sucks

Umm... I can't quite remember the last time I saw a cat attempt to satisfy its hunger with suspiciously thick cornflakes, even *with* milk involved, but you simply can't deny *No Luca No* (comma, please!) of the computer game equivalent and simulation of something that most animal owners - myself included with a certain Barney - have to endure every single day of our lives: keeping those fluffy buggers away from our food! It's kind of QTE meets comedy and annoyance... with a cat. The objective of the game - however thin - is to stop Luca from dunking his sharp-toothed face into the bowl of cornflakes, therefore ruining breakfast. When Luca appears, your mega quick cat-like reflexes are put to the test as you're tasked with pushing the RS to the right when the man himself appears. And, depending on your reaction time, you will get points, accompanied by an in-one-ear-out-the-other "No, Luca..." See, if I can add a comma, then so can you, Silver Dollar Games! That's as far as the gameplay goes. Great, eh? Hmm... I seem to remember calling Silver Dollar Games "...without a doubt, THE up-and-coming Indie game developers of current times" in regards to *Fatal Seduction* (http://www.xblaratings.com/component/content/article/54-action-a-adventure/4361-fatal-seduction), but I somewhat retract that statement in terms of this kind of lack of quality. There's a wee bit of substance there in the form of that everyday struggle that some of us go through, but apart from that, *No Luca No* fails in all categories. Dear, oh dear, Silver Dollar Games.

Final score: (2/10)

One of The Worst Indie Games on The Market!

For a dollar you would expect a less then perfect video game, but "No Luca No" isn't even worth 80 Microsoft points! All you do is use your right thumb-stick to push a cat away from cereal, and that's all. The game is very repetitive, very boring and very very awful. Don't waste any money on this garbage.
