I really, really dislike this game.
As a fan of the NBA Jam series for over a decade, I can see what they were going for in this game - and see by how far they missed the mark. Trying to do an arcade-style five on five basketball game is a really bad idea, and this game proves it.

I hated, hated, hated the visuals. The stuttering frames and choppy animation was far worse than a lot of polygon $3 indie games I've played. I really disliked the controls - anything but intuitive, and even after you got used to them, they still don't make sense. I despised that the fancy dunks looked great at the start and then fizzled out before the ball goes through the net. I snort with derision at the complete lack of playbook that every team has, and the nonsensical shooting method.

The only reason I give it a 2 instead of a 1 is that the visuals for the super dunk (pre actual dunk, mind you) is pretty cool, a good idea. After reading the developer interview on this site, I feel bad for the guys who made this. I can't say for sure where it all went wrong - possibly the rush factor, trying to get too much done in a 6-month timeframe perhaps. But they had to know before it came out that it was no good, you can't play this and think otherwise. Hopefully their next project will come together better.

Least fun I've had with an XBox Live Arcade game in a long time.

Maybe I suck but the game play is way to fast for me. When I can keep up with the opponents it is pretty fun, and graphically it looks like a nice update.

If you were brought up on super nintendo it's more than worth it for a remake of one of peoples favorite game on SNES.
