Diner Dash has always been fun, so it wasn't even a doubt that I'd get the Xbox Live release. In Diner Dash, you control Flo, a young waitress working towards a 5 star restaurant.

The game starts out simple with customers entering your diner at a slow pace, allowing you to casually take their orders, deliver to the cook, deliver the food, clear the table, and repeat the process. However, the game quickly progresses to the point where you deal with multiple customers waiting in line, and they're not patient people.

Using various upgrades, you can improve your restaurant to keep people slightly more patient, and keep the tips high. Seats in the restaurants are colored, as are the patrons. Matching these people on specific tables allows you to score higher points to progress in the game. Also, the patrons enter in groups of 2, 3, 4, and sometimes alone. Tables also match this, so if your time management skills are good, you might be able to really rack up the points.

Diner Dash has 4 restaurants in total, and there's a good 10+ hours of play time in the single player. Once you're done with that, or even prior, feel free to jump on Xbox Live and wage tip wars against other players. For 800pts, Diner Dash offers a decent amount of content and a steep challenge to newcomers to the DD series.

I've always been a fan of Diner Dash. Maybe a handful of odd jobs in the past made me think that taking orders, clearing tables, and collecting money for a meaningless job was a lot faster and rewarding if I didn't have to leave my couch. And now I get to earn achievements.

Now I have to say that I would like to apologize for any comments I made about people working in the service business who actually like their job. Before Diner Dash launched for the Xbox LIVE Arcade, I had a chance play the game at the Penny Arcade Expo this past September.

The game plays really well and progressively get harder. The real fun I found was playing the game with a friend or few. It can be a bit frustrating at times, but once you figure out what you are doing, you'll be moving up quickly. Unfortunately, the game is very repetitive and the small changes throughout the game only make it mildly enjoyable in single player.
