Tower Bloxx Deluxe

For some reason, I keep coming back to Tower Bloxx Deluxe... it definitely has that "One More Go" thing going for it :D

It's just a straight forward game - build the biggest tower, by dropping parts directly on top of others. But coupled with it showing how far you've got to go to beat people on your friends' list, your competitive streak shows :D

Unfortunately I have some super players on my friends' list and I have absolutely NO CHANCE of beating them on this game, haha!

I picked up Tower Bloxx Deluxe from Digital Chocolate for the Xbox LIVE Arcade and I must say that this game impressed me! The gameplay is simplistic, straight forward and repetitive... but not in a bad way.

Dropping bloxx to create giant sky-bound towers is great fun! Trying not to miss your swaggering tower is not as easy as I would have thought. And the added difficulty of trying to line them up perfectly and getting lots of people to move in is just an added feature that makes you want to try and try again.

The additional game modes of building cities of towering bloxx and multiplayer make it a game that I plan on visiting over-and-over.

For kids this game is great, but for anyone else it gets very easy and repetitive.

As a mother, the arrival of any new family game that even my 2 year old can play, is a welcome addition. The thing is that our whole family is actually addicted to this - even grandma who doesn't normally want to even touch the controllers. The quick game and multiplayer games are our favorites out of all the modes. We have a competition going on who can build up higher into space and my daughter is anxious to see the next prop or planet.

While I wouldn't recommend this game to the typical young male hard core players, for families and very casual players this is a must have!

Tower Bloxx is a midly amusing little game that originated as an iPhone Application. A crane swings back and forth carring a section of a building, and you must tap a button at the right time to build a tower successfully. As your tower is built, various avatars come flying in to reside in your building, and the goal is to build a nice and stable tower as high as possible.
As you progress, different colors and types of towers can be built, and you can build sections of multiple towers to make little towns.

But I have to say, this simple game is just too simple. It's polished, sure, and I won't deny being entertained at first. But after 10 minutes, there's just nothing here to keep your attention. There are lots of 80 MSP Indie games that clean this game's clock in terms of innovation, replayability and fun.
