I'll admit that I am definitely not a fan of this kind of game, I tend to dislike point and click games as a general rule. But for a little while, Axel and Pixel charmed me.

I like how things in the game are drawn, and the heart warming interactions between the artist and his dog. But then the game goes the opposite direction, making a point of showing bunnies being killed by eagles, and continuing to show dead bunnies on the hillside as the game goes along.

The puzzles in the game are just too simple. And there's an action section of the game involving driving a huge 4 x 4 that feels tacked on, maybe to try to get the attention of people like me who don't go for point and click games. But the truck driving mechanics are poor, and though it's fun for a couple of minutes, it gets old fast.

So in summary, I didn't hate everything about the game, but was never able to understand what the developers were going for in terms of mood, style, or gameplay.
