Golden Tangram

I really like Tangrams, so I was excited to see this on my Xbox (^o^). I played Tangrams a lot as a kid and still have a set around somewhere.

I must say I'm not disappointed. The game is very well made. Easy to find your way through the menus and easy to pick up how to play. I like it how when you are actually puzzling a figure, the game is very uncluttered. Only you, the figure, and the pieces on a board. Almost a bit meditative. *lol*

I didn't have any problems with the tutorial as in the other review here. I just did whatever the tutorial asked of me, and was through it very quickly. I learned the controls quickly with the tut. Of course I already knew what the game itself was about.

Sure, I could just play Tangram with the set I have anyway, but that's sitting somewhere in a drawer. I usually don't bother to search for it and the booklet with the figures. But I play Xbox often anyway, so now I can have a quick Tangram game in between. Also its only 80 points. So if you are into Tangrams too, I can really recommend to buy this.

Its also a good game for kids. Our kid is still too young for this *lol* but I will probably show it to my nephews when they visit again.

I downloaded the trial for Golden Tangram last night and jumped into the tutorial. I quickly became frustrated, as it kept repeatedly bringing up a popup telling me that my pieces may be too close to the edge to move.

I tried adjusting my pieces as I constantly battled the stupid popup. After 10 or so times, it became maddening and I exited the game and deleted it.

I'm sure the game itself is fine, I would recommend skipping the tutorial. If you enjoy Tangrams (like N E V E S on DS for example), and avoid the frustrating tutorial, then Golden Tangram may just have some fun for you.
