ADVENTURES of CAPTAIN Becky Hot

Even at $1, this is not a game that I would highly recommend. In terms of gameplay, the levels are fairly short and straight-forward; I did not finish the game, but in the 20 minutes I spent playing it, I completed over half of the levels. The levels themselves do not vary much, as you are navigating through a puzzle and defeating weak enemies through a poor collision detection system, then advancing to the next, same-looking level. You can collect coins for defeating certain enemies, you can double jump, you can slide kick, and you can transform into a Mahou-Shoujo -- all of which are at least something -- but it is quite apparent that more time was spent on making Becky look "good" than developing the gameplay.

I get that this game is intended for strange fellows who want to ogle the scantily-clad titular heroine -- as is evidenced by the game mode that just features her dancing through the same routine over and over again -- but I didn't actually find her attractive. I suppose someone could find the wide-legged, silicone-chested, muscular Becky attractive enough to merit the $1 purchase of this game, but the chances are slim when there are much better games out there (and porn is mostly free).

If you have the points, you can give it a try. It's not that bad, but then again, it's not that good. The gameplay, absolutely non-existent plot, and questionable sex appeal are all easily-forgettable elements, making this game nothing more than something to glance at. At least try the demo beforehand, because there are MANY other games I would recommend for $1 over this one.

If you're like me you'll try anything that features women in skimpy outfits. No that doesn't mean you're a creepazoid or anything. A little bit of cheesecake never hurt anyone and given the choice between some rugged bald guy in sandals and a loincloth or ..well..anything else, I'll definitely go with the latter. Still playing as barely-dressed women might mean you secretly wish you were a woman or at least had access to skimpy outfits but that's not important. What is important is that this is a game by a guy who is a unique individual who likes platforming and a very crazy edit mode.

First off if you haven't watched the trailer then do that right now, afterwards go ahead and download the game and play around with the edit mode. Feel free to screw around for awhile, have a few laughs, make all kinds of Captain Abominations and then what's next? Oh yeah you're going to be prompted on whether you wanna buy the game or not.

Well it is only a dollar which seems like the easiest excuse to buy anything off of the Indie service. Heck at least that dollar isn't getting blown on farting zombies dating massaging avatars v3.01 EX edition. While it is a bit buggy the edit mode is really kind of impressive and Becky's animations in the Gallery mode are more impressive than they have any right to be. This guy could just release a long string of games featuring customizable busty women and well I'd buy them all because I'm strange like that.

But what about the actual game? Yep there is in fact a game included with this sack of weirdness. I'm not sure what the story is but I think it involves poor Captain Becky being betrayed by the entirety of spikes everywhere and maybe three or four barely clothed people. Her vengeance can only be gotten by smashing everything with a mace, collecting coins by the dozens, and hitting blocks because dammit it's a video game. The goal is simple as it involves leading the good Captain through short levels with lots of spiked things that want to see her dead. There are some nice power-ups like hearts that allow the player a free hit as well as extra lives. There are even a handful of outfits to collect if you're into that sort of thing and you should be because clothes are awesome.

Surprisingly it's not terrible. Yeah it's definitely not Mamotte Knight(but what is?) and it's probably not a lot of things we normally associate with great or even good but it has its own uh.. appeal. The stages offer a nice mix of traps and enemies, with some offering alternate paths and a handful of methods for players to attempt to beat their highest score. It can be a tricky affair as while Becky gets a mace to swing around she's left wide open after a swing which is an easy way to eat a sharp object. Still the game isn't too difficult at least early on as despite the limited lives and no continues with a bit of practice everyone will be on their way to collecting those funky outfits and dressing a shiny purple troll in in a bunny costume.

It's not all decent however as the load times are an annoyance and while the camera control is helpful it can only be used when Becky is standing still. When the harder settings call for stages to be beaten in less than a minute that doesn't leave much time for one to get their bearings. Then again there's only so much you'd be able to polish a game like this. Sure we'd all love for Becky to fight things that don't have spikes on them and maybe she could do some swimming or explore worlds that make at least some semblance of sense and why a mace anyway but hey this is Captain Becky's adventures not Whoever Is Playing As Captain Becky's Adventures.

Besides most people should be able to shoot through this one in less than an hour. Maybe they'll do it again with Becky looking like Frankenstein with implants and get some crazy high score to boot. Some people would even go so far as to write highly critical reviews that analyze every possible aspect of this game and detail every aspect that could be improved for Captain Becky's next outing. Believe me I really did consider it but really I'd rather just have more clothing options, some new hairstyles, bigger butts, oh and a sword because maces suck.
