StarBeam

Starbeam is a nice little shooter similar to the old defender game. If your looking for an old fashioned retro game with good graphics then I definately suggest you take a look at this game, the first two levels are available in the trial, a further 2 levels are unlocked if you purchase the game, at only 80 points its definately worth it.

The first 2 levels are simple, shoot the flying saucers before they destroy your buildings, with mines, fighters and large laser saucers that kill your buildings there is a decent variety to fight against.

The 3rd level is very similar to the first two with the added element of steam jets. The steam jets hinder your progress and damage your ship if your not careful. The addition of a new cloaky flying saucer is also a nice change.

Level 4 is completely different. You must defend your buildings from boulders ejected from a volcano in the background. The occasional flying saucer attempts to hinder your progress but you need to be careful of the falling debries. Your on a timer too, you must defend your buildings for 4 minutes while a super cannon charges. If you lose a building then your timer gets extended and you must hold out for longer. Its a nice change from the first 3 levels.

Overall its a very difficult game to complete, still havent managed it myself but in my opinion this gives it more playability. At only 80 microsoft points you cant really go wrong with this fun little game
