Excellent game.

Radiangames Inferno is a twin stick shooter that eschews the usual endless barrage of enemies in an enclosed arena that's normally associated with the genre in favor of a more structured experience by setting the action in a series of levels.
There are 30 levels in total, each requiring you to find your way to the exit taking out hundreds of enemies along the way. There are barriers that need a key to be located for them to open, secret areas, and drones and bombs to aid you in your adventure. All manner of bad guys stand in your way, each type with their own tactics, and you'll often need to destroy their spawn points before sweeping up the stragglers. Downed enemies drop gold, more of which is scattered around the levels, and you'll want to collect as much as possible to spend in the shops on upgrades for your ship.
Inferno is fast paced and action packed, with well designed levels crammed full of enemies to shoot, and a well implemented difficulty curve. The visuals are clear and neon lit, with some nice explosive effects, and the electronic soundtrack fits the tempo of the game very nicely.
Radiangames Inferno really is an excellent game. Every aspect looks and feels highly polished, with a level of care and attention not often seen on XBLIG. The main reason to buy this game though is that it's an enormous amount of fun to play, and with 2-4 player co-op, three difficulty levels, and a new game plus mode, there's more than enough reason to re-visit it once you've finished your first playthrough.

Arguably my favorite radiangames game

This is a fantabulous game. My favorite thing about it is it is set up for 4 players, although things can get fairly confusing with that many players, enemies, & projectiles on screen.

For 80 msp, the 30 levels will give you plenty of play time not to mention the game+ modes and harder difficulties. I appreciate the variety of enemies--the ones that just gravitate towards you while others continue to pummel you with shots are challenging!

As another reviewer pointed out, being able to choose your own upgrades is rather unique take and a great strength. When playing multiplayer, you share a money pool that you can use to unlock powerups which will then be available for everyone. When playing with a buddy, I often use the speed/homing/power boosts while he uses the more defensive health/shield +/shield push abilities. By the end of the game you should have enough money to unlock every ability. You seem to get upgrade points every other level or so which allow you to active your chosen powerups.

Keep an eye out for the bonus exits filled with cash & drones! Not all the walls are solid!

So much fun

Inferno caught me by surprise. I was expecting another good game from RadianGames, but I'm generally not into twin-stick shooters so I figured it would be fun but not for me. Especially since Crossfire is much more style of game. However, I love Inferno! The graphics are nicely done and the game play itself is smooth and polished.

I love the leveling mechanic and power-up purchasing options. It lets a gamers pick their own upgrade order to focus on the ones that will be most effective for their own play style. Personally I put all my initial points into the homing and spread options because I have trouble aiming well with this style of control setup. It is no fault of the game, but just the way my hands/brain work together. Fortunately it was never an issue in Inferno because I could pick the upgrades that helped me the most.

I also like having the drones to help me take out enemies. The give you a nice additional power burst and there are enough of them to pick up that losing a few per level is not a big deal. Which is nice because I tend to forget to use the shield.

My only complaint is that there are only 30 levels. Sure, there is New Game + and higher difficulties but I'd gladly pay $3 or $5 to have a tn more levels.
If you've not played Inferno yet you owe it to yourself to check out the trial. It is one of the best Indie Games out there.

A mix between Geometry Wars and Gauntlet with its own visual style.
30 levels and at only 80 points, its a no brainer. BUY!

Gauntlet Vs GeoWars

30 levels of Radiangames shoot em up action meets Gauntlet. Really, what else is there to know?

Okay, I'll share a little more with you...

Another fresh twist on the Twin Stick Shooter (I'm going to have to start calling them TSS's from now on), Inferno is a top down adventure game but with all the styling’s and firepower from a TSS. You must collect keys, negotiate mazes and take down hundreds of enemies in a barrage of laser death. You come across shops along the way and can buy upgrades for the ship before returning to the excitement.

Price is a key factor and for better or worse Inferno joins Radiangames Joy Joy in the 80msp bracket. The irony is that i haven't bought Radiangames Crossfire as the 240msp price was a little steep given the abundance of Space Invader-esque titles, but Inferno has enough originality going for it I would have probably stumped up more than its 80msp value.

Radiangames continue to impress and I am already eagerly awaiting the fourth in the series.
