Almost.

I had never really been a big SF2 fan, but I have to say that I was really entertained by this version of it. Great graphics, sharp controls and gameplay...it's a must for any fighting game fan.

Nash out.

This game is a real classic. I'm not an expert at fighting games enough to compare this to SFIV, but I will say it could stand to borrow SFIV's training/trials mode. Best played with an arcade stick.

I would rate SSFIITHDR at 85% of perfect.

I really love the beautiful treatment Backbone gave this classic game, the visuals are stunning and the remixed music is rockin'.

Most levels/backgrounds are amazing, but others feel like they got the short end of the stick. Spefically I am talking about Cammy's level.

I feel like the England stage just doesn't mesh with the other levels and looks generic and poorly done. The lack of an audience may have something to do with the blandness.

There have been a couple mid-match moments when I experience some slowdown, though it is usually reserved for those intentional, victory blow moments.

My only other real complaint is the achievements. Capcom and Backbone fell short in this regard. Most of the achievements are for playing online matches. It can be taken either way, as this will ensure a healthy online community as people strive for those achievements.

Some achievements are over scored, such as Vanquishing the Computer. I would like to have seen more achievements relating to character rivalries, ala "Sagat's Scar".

At $15, SSF2THDR is a great value, especially if you don't like the 3D treatment Capcom gave in SFIV.

This is the best game for your money. Online play is fantastic and the game is a great value for only $15.

This one's a gimme, do you like 2d fighters? If the answer is no, then you weren't even considering this game... If the answer is yes, then why don't you have this already?

Classic game is still fun to play.
The graphics looks great.
The Remixed mode is lame.
Even with their "improved" net code the online can be laggy, but not too bad most of the time.

The first noticeable thing is the revamped graphics. Everything is smoothed out and not pixelated. The fighters themselves, and even the background. It gives the game a fresher and newer feel. But for those who don't like the change, you can go to the settings and switch it back to the classic feel.

Next is the gameplay. The characters are all balanced out as well as made easier to use with the changed commands. The AI is harder than I remembered. Of course, you can also switch back to the classic commands through settings. Even on Easy, some might find it challenging.

Now on to online play. One of the best additions I've seen for any game is the blind select feature. Now, both players can't see which fighter the other is choosing. You don't need to worry about having the other player choose after you chosen yours.

The sound has been remixed with some themes being better than before. I personally enjoy Ken's new theme which has a really metal feel.

All in all, I find this to be worth the purchase and recommend this to anyone that enjoys fighting games.

The graphics are very nice looking (though the fighters faces seem somewhat odd to me) and the game play is very smooth though a little slow (would prefer a option to make it a bit more TURBO)

In the settings menu there are 5 different pages of option you can edit for the game giving it great customization on how some characters play. I haven't changed anything, but just the option that I have it is a very nice feeling.

The fighting is classic, but they have done a lot of balancing. It seems characters that can't do moves such as fireballs have been beefed up a bit. They added super moves that are very easy to pull off which gives a lot more balanced play, and hit boxes to the remix mode for more acuracy.

One option I beyond love is the ability to take the characters off HD mode for a more arcade feel. I love it because it reminds me when I was a kid and first fought Cammy (still lookin good after all these years....but that's for another topic) in my room and how into the game I would get.

The Remied sound is awesome, especially the main screen that has more of a power metal solo going on. Really awesome stuff.

They have a really good selection of characters and the ability to play as Akuma (hit up when you are over guile) though the AI is a lot more challenging than I remember I love it and definitely need to step my game up.

Worth the money for sure as it is more a newer revisioned game than a remake.
