If youve never played Doom, Doom II, or Duke Nukem 3d, youre probably going to be disaposinted in this game. However if your around the age of 25-30 you'll feel right at home with one of the first "fake" (aka not true 3d but 2d images posed as 3d) violent FPS's of all time.

Pros:
-Plays fast, great controls
-Level designs are still some of the best around. Not just for shooting crap and moving on, but moreso on the non-linear front.
-All the voiceovers and music remain intact.
-Online co-op and multiplayer are a surprising and welcome addition.
-Its a looong game and well worth $10.

Cons:
-The graphics are pure old school which im not against. However in this case, they havent aged well.
-Multiplayer deathmatches usually consist of little to no strategy.

Overall 7/10.

Worth a purchase? Yes.

Great game for anyone who played the original. I like one of the other posters had never actually completed all of the levels of it on the pc but finally had a chance to do so. It was nice that the plutonium pack was also included. Recommended to any fps fan that has never played it. Don't expect updated graphics though!

This game was one of my favorite originals to hit the arcade and it's still just as fun to play as it was back then.

The single player is everything you can expect from the original with all the same secrets and plenty of babes to find. You can now play 8 player coop throughout the entire game which makes for extra fun. There are plenty of single player levels to blast your way through too as well. The way you die is great too. It basically records everything you do up until death and when you die you can choose to spawn at any point during the clip up until your death. You can save the clip after the level as well for later viewing.

The multiplayer death match's were not what I was expecting. They seem to lack a little but its entertaining for a while. I wouldn't buy this game strictly for the multiplayer if I was you.

For you achievement junkies out there, this game isn't too hard to get 200/200. You will have to spend some time on the multiplayer achievements though.

This game is a great buy for this price. I recommend this game to anyone looking for a decent shooter on arcade.

The game is as fun as I remember. For $10, it even includes the additional Plutonium Pak levels.

Online mode is a blast and the new rewind feature is a welcome addition.

Even though I had it on PC, I find that I rarely finish anything on the PC. I came close, but it never happened. On XBLA, I bothered to finish it and it's a great experience. The final boss is just insane, but I got her once and for all.

Very recommended for FPS fans.

I loved this game when it came out, I could play it for hours! But it hasn't aged well, now I just get annoyed by the pre-historic controls. I bought Doom for xbox and I must say that it feels a lot more clean and simple, somehow DukeNukeEm feels older than doom.

One of my favorite games period. This game is well worth the points. It has a pretty decent multi-player and the game alone on single player should take some time to finish with so many levels!

This port of an old game stands up very well against all other XBLA games, old or new. Anyone old enough to remember the good old days of playing this on PC will not be disappointed.

The only game that could be better than this is if Goldeneye 007 ever makes it to XBLA.

Online Co-op, DukeMatch, and replays make this game even better.

This game is a must buy.

You own yourself to play this game. A classic among classics, it changed the way the shooters are played and designed.
It has aged very well.

I had 800 points left and was debating weather or not to (re)purchase this title. I tried the demo...and I had to relive the good ol days. Multi player can be fun, and can be quite fast paced.

I do wish it wasn't $10 as you can prob. get it cheaper for the PC, so definitely try the demo. For me playing a FPS with a controller makes life so much more blissful.

This game definitely holds the test of time with its fun value!

I'll never forget the first time I sat down and played this game. I was amazed. There were so many new features that other FPS didn't have. I won't list them, because others already have.

I believe this game still holds up today. True the graphics are obviously dated, but the gameplay is where this game truly shines. It's just so much fun and nostalgic.

Also, it's nice to see that Microsoft didn't just give us the single player game. I was afraid that was going to happen. I'm glad to see they gave us not only one of the best FPS ever, they also added the chaotic and really fun multiplayer.

If you have the points, this game is well worth them.

Duke Nukem 3D will go down in history as one of the greats. Does it stand on its own against today's premier titles? Of course not. If you've never played it before, or if you're a youngster spoiled by the graphics of today, you will have to take Duke Nukem 3D with a grain of salt.

However, you should bear in mind that this game contained many revolutionary additions to the FPS genre, including:

- Throwing/detonating Pipe bombs
- Mirrors! Yes you could see your reflection even though when you kick, the other leg kicks in the mirror.. oops!
- True 3D look and movement. (Even though enemies and much of the environment is still 2D sprites)
- Reactive environment! Use the toilet, Watch a movie, destroy a fire hydrant (or that toilet) or even tip an exotic dancer! Let's see you do that in Doom!
- Fly with a jetpack!
- Create a "holoduke", a holographic version of yourself to confuse your enemies.

If you've never played it, you should check it out. It's well worth the points for a playthrough of this classic FPS goodness.

Oh man, what can be said about Duke Nukem 3D? Thank God they kept the game intact. The Painless Death system makes the game a little too easy, but even then the newbies will have a tough time getting through the bosses on the harder difficulties (and really, which of you pansies is playing Duke on anything lower than "Come Get Some"?!?).

Add in the perfectly imperfect single player that always satisfies with the Deathmatch (excuse me, DUKEmatch) play, and you have pretty much the best 800 points ever spent.

...Is never coming out.

But, in the meantime, go play Duke Nukem 3D for XBLA. It features pretty much everything the PC version (well... minus all the user made content) had and more. Duke was a pretty challenging game depending on the difficulty setting, but newcomers should find the new painless death system to be a welcome feature. There's also 8(!) player co-op so you can wreak havoc with your friends over Xbox Live. You can also share clips/replays of your playthroughs, to show off your crazy speed run or hilarious moment.

The game holds up great, but I actually found myself turning off the motion blur and chunking the graphics up a bit. Sure it can look better, but it feels better with a little stiffer graphics-especially with the sometimes oddball view you get below you.

A must have and the online has worked fine for me-lots to do for 10 dollars.

For a decade old shareware shooter, Duke Nukem still holds up surprisingly well. It's still funny, the secrets are still fun to find, anyone can pick up and play fairly easily. I was shocked at how well the game stood up.

The viewpoint can be a little wonky sometimes, as can the jumping platform sections, but the new additions more than make up for the rough edges. You can rewind the game after your death and retry scenarios, a huge plus for ANY game, nevertheless an old PC shooter. Lots of stuff to unlock as well.

The dukematch multiplayer is insane. Everyone jumping around, blasting whatever firepower they can find into the air in hopes of making it's mark, meanwhile one guy will inevitably grab the jetpack and rocketlauncher and blow the hell out of everyone else. It's a lot of fun though. Easily worth $10, and much better than the similar 'Doom' release.

TO me the game is kinda average-ish. Many of my friends told me the game is awesome and what not so I picked it up. It is like doom in a way but in my opinion isn't as fun. Duke Nukem plays like a modern FPS almost you run around the level and kill everything you can aim in all directions unlike doom. The best thing about the game is the unique weapons and little one liners that are thrown in. The new additions are the co-op mode which is fun with up to 8 players although I haven't had more then 5 people in a game. There is also the standard dukematch added for multiplayer also like doom you play on the single player maps so there are over 40 maps. The final and best new thing is the rewind feature. Anytime you die you can just rewind the game a bit to the point you want to play from. It is a great idea and I hope to see it in more games. All in all this is a great game if you love classic shooters or just plain blowing shit up. Tone other little bonus is you can watch and save replays for your friends to watch much like on halo 3.

Duke Nukem 3D has everything a good XBLA game should. A lengthy single player campaign, online deathmatch, and online co-op. All of this combined with a great time rewind feature that makes dying in single player no big deal. All of this plus Duke's great one-liners.

If you loved Doom, chances are you're going to love this game.

Ah, Duke Nukem 3D. If I do say, one of the best FPS games to be released in the entire history of gaming. Fast-paced, hilarious dialogue, challenging puzzles, this game has it all. The one word to describe this game is "awesome". At 800 points (10 dollars), this game is a steal. With extra features added such as the rewinding option (which allows you to reverse what you did so you can do it better after you die) and the new multiplayer.

But the game isn't without faults, as of this review, online is laggy if not everyone has the same type of connection. This can really take out the fun as you'll find yourself teleporting and finding yourself shooting at a wall with an RPG. The graphics are still outdated but it's not a major thing unless you're a graphics whore.

All in all, if you like FPS games with trash-talk, this game is up your alley.

This game is definitely worth the 800 Microsoft points I paid for it. In single player you have over 40 levels to play through. If you die, there is a new rewind feature that is very handy. If you've played a Duke Nukem game in the past, the game play is spot on. Other than the PC version, this is the best port of the game.

The multiplayer is an added bonus. You can play in Dukematch (deathmatch) or play cooperatively through the campaign. Eight player coop is fun. Dukematch is also a blast to play because you have over 40 levels to choose from when setting up the game. There is also ranked and player matches in this mode.

Last, the game will also save replays of your campaign and Dukematch games. It's basically like Halo 3's replay system and you can go in and save your favorite replays and share them with friends or with other Xbox Live users.

I highly recommend this game. Shake it baby!

The game is exactly like it used to be, no bugs in it as far as I can see, and they did a VERY awesome thing with the rewind system, instead of having to save all the time, you can just rewind once you die to any previous spot. That's a genius move that was unexpected.
