I'm not really a fan of a developer selling out, and I feel that is exactly what they are doing, the modes don't really justify a whole new game and multiplayer isn't even online, because it takes such fast reaction speeds and latency. RIIIIIIIGGHHHHT. >_>

I just think this game is way too hyped, doesn't even seem like the best two stick shooter I've played, it sure does pack alot of shapes on screen at once though. I didn't buy the original, so I got this and don't regret it. The novelty people have placed around it, will have you not regretting it either.

This game features 6 modes, all of which are highly addictive. My favorite mode is Pacifism where you can shoot, but rather go through gates that explode to destroy enemies. The game is easily one of the best games on Xbox Live.

One of the most addicting games I've played, and one of my favorite games of all time. You'll constantly be trying to beat high scores of your own or your friends, and always be coming back for more. Ridiculously fun, with a variety of different modes to see.

This is the perfect game for short sessions. Always trying to get a better highscore i find myself playing this game very often. The Graphics are clean, crisp and absolutely retro psychedelic. This is a top game everyone should buy. (Graphics 10/10 , Music 7/10, Gameplay 8/10)

The moment you start Geometry Wars 2, your eyes will burned off by it's crisp, clean 1080i visuals. But the graphics aside, this sequel is a significant upgrade from the original. There 6 modes to choose from, all unique in their own way. There is the Evolved mode that we all have to come to love but the other modes each will draw you in with their own uniqueness. There is the adrenaline-pumped, frenzied mode that is Waves that should get the blood pumping or the addictive Pacifism mode that will have you avoiding enemies and prevents you from doing any shooting. The soundtrack is bumping once again and will only get you in the game all the better. One of the best features is a leaderboard for all game types that compares your scores with all your friends at a quick glance. You may spend a lot of your time replaying multiple games just trying to leap ahead of that one friend. Any fan of dual stick shooters needs to pick up Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2. All the game modes offer endless replayability, and make you keep shooting for the highest score. The overall presentation is an example that an inexpensive, downloadable game can offer much more value than a lot of retail titles out there. Do not hesitate shooter fans, this is the best way you'll ever spend $10.

When I heard they made a sequel to my then-favorite XBLA game, Geometry Wars, I was skeptical that it could surpass the original. The demo, of course, proved otherwise.

Geometry Wars 2 ups the ante in every way over the original... and provides 6 very different modes! This game is a complete adrenaline rush, with popping colors and techno beats, HD vector graphics, and lightning-paced action.

I've hardly ever gone back to the original :)

Quite simple, if you liked the first, you'll like this one. With more game modes for both single and multiplayer, this version is more accessible than it's predecessor. If you haven't bought either version of Geometry Wars so far, this is the one I would recommend.

I <3 this game so much! My favorite Xbox 360 game, and that goes for disk based games as well.

This game pretty much overwrites the original for anyone getting into Geometry Wars for the first time. The visuals are improved, the sound design is better, and unlike the first, there are multiple modes to play. With a brand new leaderboard design that can be viewed at mode select on the main screen, you can always see your friends scores and where you stand between them.

Best of the new modes is Pacifism, where you can't shoot at all, but have to avoid enemies while trying to destroy them by luring them into explosion traps.

Purely Addictive

Very challenging just as the first game was, and this one has a wonderful leaderboard system. Each mode will show you updated high scores/times of your friends that have the game, so you find yourself constantly trying to outdo them.

Numerous modes and different styles of play will keep you involved for many hours. And, it's got pretty colors... what more could you want?

If you have some friends around, or even if you're by yourself, Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 is an amazing game. Visually stunning and captivating, not to mention addictive, this game will have you glued to the tv. The classic theme song when playing Retro Evolved will also get you more pumped into the game.

I got this for the multi player, and was not disappointed. Pacifism and king are excellent 4 player!

GW 1 was the first game i ever downloaded online through XBLA! And for good reason it is still fun. But i doubt i will ever play it again with 2 being better in every respect! The new modes give the game much needed veriety! One of the best Arcade game out there!!

This game is incredibly hectic and you can spend hours trying to beat your friends highscore. I was hooked on the first and the second is much better.

If you loved the first one, the second one is for you! Added options like co-op, and new game modes make this a sure hit.

I mainly bought this game because off the glowing reviews from this site. I was not disappointed at all by the game after playing it for a while. There are 6 varied game modes that are all pretty distinct from each other. It almost seems like a weird remake of asteroids with vivid colors and more enemies. It has local multiplayer but it sadly doesn't have any multiplayer over Xbox Live. All in all the game should last you a while and is fun to come back and play ever once in a while. You won't regret purchasing this excellent game.

Pacifist mode alone is worth 800 MS-points. This game is really addicting.

when you first start this game up. Let me know if you run out of numbers by the time you remember that you need to eat to live and have been trying to squeeze those extra points out of pacifism for the last hour and a half. Don't worry, it happens to a lot of people.

Geometry wars is back and better than ever. The added multiplayer modes really spice up what was originally a very fun, but limited, prequel. Providing the player with many more ways to play, including co-op and competitive modes, takes this series to the next level.

This is such a great game

I loved the first geometry wars, but got bored that it was the same thing time after time. Which is why Geometry wars 2 is so amazing! I love the different modes and the different challenges each mode brings. Plus add on the achievements and this game keeps rocking hard!

My girlfriend loves to watch me play and get all worked up. I love the challenges each mode brings because it is what I like to do to keep things interesting. Like when you were a kid and said "the black tiles are lava" Definitely worth the $10 as if it was an arcade game it is one I would eventual (pretty quickly) sink at least that into.

Great game, much better then the first one. Really fun, fast and easily addictive - would recommend to all gamers who like any shooting game.

I have so many reiterations of this game. The Wii, DS, 360 versions. They are all worth it and consume a lot of my time. This is definetly a must have for any XBLA fan.

And I have to say, Pacifism is easily one of the most addictive variants of a game I have ever seen or played. A friend of mine has killed my score on there, and yet, I keep trying to get it back.

Wow! I still play this game nearly everyday since it came out a month ago. The bright shiny graphics surprise me every time I turn it on. It's perfect to play through a few of your favorite game types to get better at everyday.

The way the game was designed makes it completely accessible for 5 year-olds, hardcore for 15 year-olds, and retro a-la asteroids-HD for 45 year-olds.

Brilliant game design to keep same weapons throughout and to collect geoms to multiply score each time. 3 of the 6 game modes feature one-life-only. Perfectly addictive and challenging.
