2011 was a great year for Xbox Live Arcade games. Honestly, I had trouble getting this list down to under 15. However, after much deliberating here is our list of the top Xbox Live Arcade games of the year. Take look at the list and then let us known in the comments which were your favorite Xbox Live Arcade games of 2011.
11. Crimson Alliance Hack-n-slash co-op games don't come to XBLA very often. Nice to have one that is also really fun to play even if the pricing structure confused a lot of people.
10. NBA Jam: On Fire Edition A solid remake of classic arcade series instead of just a port of the original is appreciated. 4 player online of couch matches are back!
9. Outland A stunning platformer with an Ikaruga style light/dark mechanic. On the more difficult side of things but that is probably true of any good platfomer.
8. Full House Poker There have been quite a few poker games released for XBLA, but none of the combine all the elements like Full House Poker with its game show and tournaments.
7. Trenched/Iron Bridgade Tower defense games are pretty common, but this might the first where you are actually the tower. There are upgrades and customization options to build the perfect tower for the level and your play style, and 4 player co-op which makes any game better.
6. Ms Splosion Man Everything we loved about Splosion Man is back with bigger, crazier levels. Twisted Pixel knows how to make funny games and Ms Splosion Man is probably their most humorous to date.
5. Torchlight Arguably the single best action RPG on Xbox Live Arcade. With improved controls and interface from the PC version Torchlight is a must play for anyone with loot fetish.
4. Toy Soldiers: Cold War Toy Soldiers are back with new modes, cooperative play and mini-games. This sequel is much faster paced and keeps the action constantly going with barrages and more vehicles.
3. Orcs Must Die Action tower defense is rarely as fun Orcs Must Die. The balance between strategy and third person action is perfect. With 24 levels and multiple difficulties is a ton of replay value.
2. Dungeon Defenders Action RPG gets blended with tower defense in one of the most addicting games of 2011. 4 player co-op, tons of loot, multiple character classes and a steady stream of DLC keep gamers coming back for more.
1. Bastion Clean, simple controls, a beautiful game world and one of the best narrated stories I've ever played. With the recent update there are new game modes to challenge veteran players and a no fail mode for those just wanting to enjoy the story.
