I always enjoy finding upcoming Xbox Live Indie Games what look new and different. The Adventures of Felix Fox falls into that category. From the info and videos I'm not aware of any other Indie Game that looks like this. The creator describes it as a beat 'em up platformer which is not a combination you see a lot. The Adventures of Felix Fox should be out in the next couple weeks for $3 (240 Microsoft Points).
The Adventures of Felix Fox is split in two portions with one part being a battle mode with online features and the other being a very small but challenging action-adventure mode. Both pieces have multiplayer features to them. In the battle mode up to 4 players can compete on 8 stages with 4 different characters, it plays like a fighting game with a lot of people only not as refined as say Street Fighter. The adventure mode multiplayer isn't co-op as you might expect. The multiplayer component in adventure mode allows other players to join in as foes and attempt to take down the main player. For each player that joins in, the main player gets a power boost in addition to the the joining player's attacks being slowed down to compensate for the enemies being much smarter.
If you like lists here is a breakdown of the features:
A short Adventure Mode about 8 minutes in length.
1-4 player Battle Mode Featuring (Survival, Battle Royal, Team Survival, Team Battle Royal, and Conquest Mode)
4 Battle Characters with unique move sets
Minion Mode, which additional players can join in the Adventure Mode to try to take down the main player
Xbox Live Battles with 1-8 players
