NotPlanA subsidiary Gift is pleased to announce Dreams of Witchtown, a new fantasy action RPG for Xbox Live Indie Games. As the very first game brought to life by this new and upcoming team it sets the groundwork for a loveable story and series. In this first episode you will be introduced to Aurora the talented young witch who is on a quest to save her world, Lausiv, from the evil force in cahoots with the village chief of Witchtown.

Aurora finds herself on a journey to Witchtown because the village chief has killed her parents and she discovers that there are very dark forces at play that her parents were trying to stop. The only way to stop her land from being consumed by darkness is to curse the very source of its magic, Witchtown. The only person that stands in her way is the Harbinger of the Great Evil. Of course, there will be others that aren’t happy about what Aurora is about to do.

The gameplay has action, adventure and RPG elements. The combat is real-time and fast paced. Aurora gains additional spells and abilities as the player progresses through the game defeating bosses. When an enemy is defeated they will drop experience bubbles which can be collected to level up. Leveling up gives Aurora additional health and magic. Progress can be saved at many different save locations throughout the game. There are also shops throughout the game where a player can replenish their health and magic potions which are almost essential during the boss fights.

Dream’s lead designer Chris Hubler has always had a love for video games and art. He attended The Art Institute of Seattle for a period of time before beginning a career as an aviation mechanic. After several years of that he decided to pursue his dream of developing a game and has begun a new career working diligently to gain the skills needed to create digital animation. He has drawn on a library of fondly loved titles such as Odin Sphere (PS2), Popful Mail (Sega CD), Muramasa The Demon Blade (Wii), and others to develop his own unique and ever evolving art style. Along the way players will be treated to an original musical score composed by Barry Hubler.
